My how the time flies. Garrett turned 5 months old today. Over the last few weeks or so Garrett has really started to develop at an astounding pace. He has begun rolling over and can sit up well assisted and is beginning to sit up unassisted for 2-3 seconds at a time. He is also standing for longer periods of time when he has something to hold onto. His personality is blossoming and his curiosity and persistence is beginning to show. He wants to hold everything in his sight and more importantly he wants what he sees to be in his mouth. Camden was never a mouther so this is brand new territory for us. His nickname of “bear” is thoroughly entrenched and he will even turn his head to it. He also recognizes his own name but he sometimes ignores you anyway. He said “mama” for the first time the other day but of course he still doesn’t know the meaning of it yet. He is still a sweet snuggler and I enjoy his precious smiles and giggles. I don’t enjoy the hair pulling and I pretend to be disgusted by all of the drool but it really isn’t too bad.
Here are his stats at 5 months:
17 pounds exactly
28 inches long
He’s above the 90th percentile for height and in the 60th percentile for weight. My prediction is that he is going to be tall and skinny like his sister.
Garrett also had his first bath with his sister two nights ago sitting up for the first time in his bath seat. He loved it and had a lot of fun. Don’t mind the spaghetti sauce on Camden’s face.
