We are so excited because Mikayla has come to stay with us over Spring Break. She arrived Saturday, early afternoon, and will be with us until next Sunday. We have all ready had such a blast and have so many fun things planned for the upcoming week. Camden of course, is joyous beyond measure, that her sister is here. They have been so giddy with excitement being able to play together. We also got to announce the pregnancy to Mikayla and that was a lot of fun. It is about a quarter after 9:00pm right now and I can hear the girls in the bedroom discussing from their respective bunk beds what we should name the baby “boy”. Camden cries anytime someone suggests it might be a girl. “NO! We all ready have girls. I have a sister. We NEED a baby BROTHER!!” I’ve stopped arguing at this point. The names they were discussing in the bedroom were Piglet, Dewey, Huey and Lewey. They thought they were hilarious. I don’t have the heart to tell them to stop talking and go to sleep even though they’ve been laying in bed for over an hour. Some of my fondest memories with my siblings (and cousin Chandra) were the nights we stayed up talking into the wee hours of the morning.

Camden just ran out here to beg me to make the baby a boy. I told her the babies gender was all ready decided and we’d find out when the baby was born whether it was a boy or a girl. I was informed that Mikayla has also given her consent that it should be a boy. Camden then piped up “let’s name the baby James!” Cute. That is the first real name suggestion that is reasonable.

Here are some family pictures from some fun activities over the last two days. We went to the playground of Dreams in Kennewick on Saturday and today we went for a family bike ride (well all except me because I don’t have a bike). Tomorrow I am taking the girls to see a REAL movie at the theatre (a rare activity for us). How fun! We’re going to see Dr. Seuss’ Horton Hears a Who.

They did it all by themselves!

So excited about the bike ride

Camden starts off first

That doesn’t last long. Camden is “too slow” for Mikayla

Wow, she’s fast! Can you see her way up there?

Daddy stays behind with Cami. Let’s all laugh at his broken middle finger.

Daddy goes for a ride with Mikayla so they can go fast. Let’s laugh at the finger again.

And they’re off…

Having so much fun going fast in the street with dad

Camden decides she wants to go fast in the street too

Being little stinks. Camden says, “When do I get a fast bike?”

All tuckered out after the bike ride. So sweet…

She really fell asleep on her sister

Camden has begun transitioning away from nap-time. I’m not a big fan of this transition but what’s a mom to do? She is in the stage where her body very much needs a nap (as well as her attitude) but some internal clock of hers is pretty insistent that she’s a big girl now and doesn’t need naps. Except for days like these where she passes out, out of sheer exhaustion.

I am still laughing about the below situation. I was finishing up some homemade lasagna when Camden popped herself into the baby swing (yes, I know it’s not AP) that we have. She is normally told that she is not allowed to be in the swing but I had a mommy cave moment because she snuck in there while I wasn’t looking and made me crack up seeing such a huge child in a baby swing. She pretty much knows if she can make me laugh then she is ok. So, she is swinging away pushing herself with her feet on the floor. I enjoy the bliss of finishing dinner and cleaning the kitchen without interruption. Then she asks for me to turn the swing and the music on. I almost tell her no. Then I think, what the heck, and turn it on for her reminding her she’ll need to keep her feet up so that the motor won’t stop. I looked away for 3 minutes tops and this is what I find.

Here are some cute pictures from last week when she fell asleep on the floor eating lunch and watching Pocahontas while I was doing laundry.
