Spring Break Fun

We are so excited because Mikayla has come to stay with us over Spring Break. She arrived Saturday, early afternoon, and will be with us until next Sunday. We have all ready had such a blast and have so many fun things planned for the upcoming week. Camden of course, is joyous beyond measure, that her sister is here. They have been so giddy with excitement being able to play together. We also got to announce the pregnancy to Mikayla and that was a lot of fun. It is about a quarter after 9:00pm right now and I can hear the girls in the bedroom discussing from their respective bunk beds what we should name the baby “boy”. Camden cries anytime someone suggests it might be a girl. “NO! We all ready have girls. I have a sister. We NEED a baby BROTHER!!” I’ve stopped arguing at this point. The names they were discussing in the bedroom were Piglet, Dewey, Huey and Lewey. They thought they were hilarious. I don’t have the heart to tell them to stop talking and go to sleep even though they’ve been laying in bed for over an hour. Some of my fondest memories with my siblings (and cousin Chandra) were the nights we stayed up talking into the wee hours of the morning.

Camden just ran out here to beg me to make the baby a boy. I told her the babies gender was all ready decided and we’d find out when the baby was born whether it was a boy or a girl. I was informed that Mikayla has also given her consent that it should be a boy. Camden then piped up “let’s name the baby James!” Cute. That is the first real name suggestion that is reasonable.

Here are some family pictures from some fun activities over the last two days. We went to the playground of Dreams in Kennewick on Saturday and today we went for a family bike ride (well all except me because I don’t have a bike). Tomorrow I am taking the girls to see a REAL movie at the theatre (a rare activity for us). How fun! We’re going to see Dr. Seuss’ Horton Hears a Who.

Running towards the park

Holding hands…

Mikayla pushing Camden on the swing

Mikayla liked to go down upside down head first

The traditionalist approach

Playing in a club house

Building a big floor puzzle

They did it all by themselves!

So excited about the bike ride

Mikayla getting her bike out

Camden starts off first

That doesn’t last long. Camden is “too slow” for Mikayla

Wow, she’s fast! Can you see her way up there?

Daddy stays behind with Cami. Let’s all laugh at his broken middle finger.

Daddy goes for a ride with Mikayla so they can go fast. Let’s laugh at the finger again.

And they’re off…

Having so much fun going fast in the street with dad

Camden decides she wants to go fast in the street too

Being little stinks. Camden says, “When do I get a fast bike?”

All tuckered out after the bike ride. So sweet…

She really fell asleep on her sister

I love James too. Mike is piiiiiiccckkkkyyyy. We’re working on it. It gets easy to feel lazy about names (figuring one out) since we don’t know what we’re having.

About Mike’s finger, lol. Poor guy broke it at work. He is working at Hanford which is a nuclear site and his finger got crushed and fractured (in two places) between some pipe and a pipe holder. Apparently some safety procedures have been put in place now since previous methods were obviously unsafe. He is now standing around at work doing nothing because the union can’t afford to have him “out of work” because that costs them lots of money in penalties for a serious job injury but he can’t use his right hand at all so he is useless at work. Poor guy.

K, so I want to know how Mike broke his middle finger! Well…maybe I don’t! I can’t believe how big Mikayla is! Wow!

AWWW…how sweet :) Bravo for letting them stay up late talking! Remember our troll talent shows???? Noooooo, you turn off the light!

    I miss you!

I think James is the perfect boy name.
